The Parents Behind The Program At Colts Neck High School
The CNHS NJROTC Parents Club exists for one reason: to ensure every cadet in the Colts Neck High School Naval Junior ROTC program has the resources, recognition, and family support they need to succeed - in the unit and beyond it.

Who We Are
A Parent-Run Organization Built Around the Unit
The CNHS NJROTC Parents Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit made up of parents, guardians, and family members of cadets enrolled in the Naval Junior ROTC program at Colts Neck High School in Colts Neck, New Jersey.
We are not part of the school administration or the U.S. Navy command structure. We operate independently - organized by families, governed by elected officers, and accountable to the parents who show up.
Why We Exist
The Program Needs More Than What Funding Provides
NJROTC at Colts Neck High School is led by dedicated Naval Science Instructors and supported in part by the school district and the Navy. But competitive programs demand more - travel, equipment, recognition events, and scholarships that fall outside standard budgets.
The Parents Club was formed to fill that space. We are the organized effort of families who decided the program's potential shouldn't be limited by its funding.

What the Parents Club Works Toward Every Year
Everything we do maps back to these five objectives. They guide how we allocate resources, plan events, and measure whether we're doing our job.
Recognize Cadet Achievement
Provide scholarships, awards, and formal recognition that honor the effort cadets invest in academics, leadership, physical fitness, and community service.
Strengthen the Connection Between Home and Unit
Keep families informed about program activities, cadet milestones, and upcoming events so parents can support their cadet's experience with full context.
Build a Community of Engaged Families
Create a welcoming structure where parents - can connect with each other, contribute their skills, and feel part of something meaningful.
These aren't aspirational statements. Each objective has a line item in our annual plan and is reviewed at monthly Parents Club meetings. If we're not delivering on one, we adjust.
The Program We Support
What NJROTC Develops in Every Cadet
The Naval Junior ROTC program at Colts Neck High School is a four-year leadership and citizenship curriculum administered by the U.S. Navy. It is not a recruitment program - there is no military service obligation. The focus is on building young people who lead with integrity.
Leadership & Discipline
Cadets learn to lead formations, manage teams, make decisions under pressure, and hold themselves accountable. These skills transfer directly to college, careers, and life.
Academic Excellence
Naval Science courses count toward graduation requirements. The program emphasizes study habits, time management, and goal setting that strengthen performance across all subjects.
Physical Fitness
Regular PT sessions and fitness assessments build endurance, confidence, and healthy habits. Cadets who train together develop resilience and mutual accountability.
Community Service
Cadets participate in service projects throughout the year - from veterans' events to local community support. Giving back is not optional; it's part of the program's DNA.
How We Operate
Transparent, Elected, and Accountable
The Parents Club is governed by elected officers and operates under bylaws approved by the membership. Officers serve one-year terms and are elected at the annual meeting each spring.
Monthly meetings are open to all members. Agendas, meeting minutes, and financial reports are shared with the membership so every family knows exactly how the organization operates and where resources go.
We coordinate directly with the CNHS NJROTC Naval Science Instructors to align our support with the unit's actual needs - not assumptions about what we think they need.

The Values Behind Everything We Do
Cadets Come First
Every decision we make is filtered through one question: does this directly benefit our cadets? If the answer isn't a clear yes, we don't do it. There are no pet projects, no administrative priorities - just cadets.
Transparency Builds Trust
Families deserve to know where their contributions go and how decisions are made. We publish financials, open our meetings, and welcome questions. Trust isn't assumed - it's earned through visibility.
Every Family Belongs
You don't need a military background to be part of this community. If your cadet is in the program, you belong here. We meet families where they are - whether they can attend every event or simply want to stay informed.
Service Is the Standard
We ask our cadets to serve their community. We hold ourselves to the same standard. Every officer and committee member is a volunteer. The work gets done because families show up for each other.
