When a parent volunteers, their cadet receives credit for half of the parent's hours. Volunteer 4 hours at a fundraiser? Your cadet logs 2 service hours toward their record. It's one of the easiest ways to help your cadet build their resume while supporting the unit.

Why Parent Involvement Still Matters - Even if Your Cadet "Just" Shows Up
There's no such thing as "just a member." Every cadet wears the uniform, learns the values, and represents the unit. And the Parents Club supports all of them - not just the ones traveling to competitions. Here's why your involvement is critical no matter what your cadet's role looks like:
- Funding benefits everyone. The money we raise pays for uniforms, awards, unit events, field trips, and end-of-year celebrations that every cadet participates in - not just competitive teams.
- Events don't run themselves. Award nights, the military ball, community service projects, and open houses all need parent hands. These are unit-wide events your cadet attends whether they compete or not.
- Your cadet notices. Cadets whose parents are engaged with the unit are more likely to stay involved, take on leadership roles, and get the most out of the program. Showing up says "this matters" louder than any words.
- You build the community. The Parents Club isn't a booster club for star athletes - it's the support system for the entire battalion. When you're involved, you're strengthening the network that holds the unit together.

Pick what fits your schedule and interests. No background check is required for any parent volunteer role - just a willingness to help.
Competition Chaperoning
Travel with cadets to drill meets, academic challenges, and orienteering competitions. You'll help with transportation, supervision, and moral support on competition days.
Dine to Donate
The easiest volunteer opportunity there is - just go out to eat! When we partner with local restaurants, a percentage of your bill comes back to the unit. No extra work, no extra cost. You can also help by identifying new restaurant partners in the community.
Big Fundraising Events
Each year we organize one signature fundraising event - think Bingo Night, a golf outing, or something entirely new. We're always open to fresh ideas! Volunteers help plan, promote, and run the event from start to finish.
Committee Work
Join a Parent Club committee to help steer a specific area - fundraising, communications, events, or sponsorships. Committees meet regularly and keep the club running behind the scenes.
Spread the Word
Help promote events, share social media posts, or connect us with local businesses for sponsorships. If you know people, you're already qualified.

Common Questions
How much time do I need to commit?
As much or as little as you want. Some parents help at one event per year; others join a committee and stay involved monthly. Dine to Donate requires literally zero extra time - just eat dinner. There's no minimum commitment.
Do I need any special skills or training?
Nope. Every role comes with on-the-spot guidance. If you can set up a table, drive a car, eat at a restaurant, or share a social media post, you're more than qualified.
How does the cadet service-hour credit work?
When a parent logs volunteer hours, their cadet receives credit for half of those hours. For example, if you volunteer 6 hours at an event, your cadet is credited with 3 service hours. It's tracked through the Parent Club and reported to the unit.
Do I need a background check?
No. Parent volunteer roles with the Parent Club do not require a background check. Just sign up and show up.
Can both parents volunteer and earn cadet credit?
Yes! If both parents volunteer, the cadet receives credit for half of each parent's hours. It all adds up.
